Proteger los ecosistemas con soluciones basadas en la naturaleza
NAIAD is a Horizon 2020 project focused on the research and development of Nature-based Solutions that help mitigate the devastating effects of climate change.
These solutions are based on the certainty that nature has the capacity to generate resilience against natural disasters and other phenomena derived from global warming. And they contribute to protecting people and ecosystems from the climate threat that is putting the planet in check.
NAIAD creates concrete and replicable approaches, in addition to exploring innovative financial instruments to support their implementation, and aims to increase awareness about the importance of NBS and the socioeconomic opportunities they offer at local, regional and EU levels.
Off Course’s challenge was to explain NAIAD in an accessible and concise way, through a video that would allow the project to be presented at conferences, talks, communications, etc.
How did we achieve it?
We conducted several strategic sessions with some of NAIAD’s partners, focused on developing one of the project’s main platforms. These sessions allowed us to ground the project’s narrative.
The result
The final video explains how the solutions researched under the NAIAD umbrella can decrease the risk of natural disasters – especially droughts and floods – through environmental assessment. And how the project has developed a method of analysis – physical, economic, and social – that provides a real estimation of the needs and risks of each environment. This method is based on the most advanced environmental intelligence systems and has been tested in nine case studies across different points in Europe.
